A native of the midwest, Melanie Williams developed her passion for horticulture in the family vegetable garden. She has worked at Mission Hills Nursery in San Diego, CA as head of bedding plant material and displays. She was subsequently hired as design assistant to John Alexander, founder of 'Yards and Gardens,' a landscape design firm based in La Jolla, CA and has also worked at 'The Cutting Garden' in Sequim, WA as the lead gardener for its botanical collection. She has a bachelor of arts in East Asian History from the University of Kansas and has resided in the southern California region for over a decade.
Melanie Williams Landscapes Inc. is based out of the greater Los Angeles, CA as well as Palm Springs, CA and provides the following services: Specialty maintenance, garden restoration, full-scale landscape design and consultation for both residential and commercial properties.
Melanie's talents have been promoted on the HGTV show 'Get Out, Way Out,' and 'This Old House' on PBS. She also had a garden featured in 'Architectural Digest,' issue December 2009. Her commercial clients include Heavenly Properties, Larchmont Boulevard Association, Los Angeles Tennis Club, K/O Paper Products at Universal Studios, Classical Progression Inc., Homework Decor, The Larchmont Larder, Klein Development, Fair Oaks Summit and St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. Her gardens have also been featured on the Windsor Square-Hancock Park Historical Society garden tour, the Santa Monica Green Gardens tour and the non-profit Olive Branches garden tour.
Melanie creates gardens with a sincere focus on her clients' needs and desires. Each design is an original concept and she strives to develop spaces that are unique, ultimately reflecting the lifestyle of the client.
